Yes, can simplify this massively. Set up in new branch as it’ll involve a fair bit of rewriting.

and clamp()
are all supported in the same browsers that support grid
, so they can safely be used together under the grid @supports
grouping.
Aims:

keep measure more consistent (in characters) across wider viewport widths, perhaps use clamp
withch
units as example in the article above -
keep ability to do 2-col and 3-col layouts (maybe add more?!— might be useful for #52 (closed)) -
keep named grid areas (preferably the same) -
ensure it works with the "subgrids" -
check for every instance where grid is used in stylesheets
