On macOS, it is unclear when the Mac app has been opened
When Better is opened from Finder or Launchpad, the only thing showing the app is open is the icon in the menu bar. This can be easy to miss, especially if the menu bar is already full of icons.
We’ve had numerous people report that the app isn’t opening, when it’s really because Better is a menubar app, and they haven’t noticed that it is open.
I believe this only occurs when the app is opened after the Better extension has been activated in Safari. (Because when the extension is not activated, you get a persistent screen with activation instructions.)
Perhaps we need a persistent screen even when the extension has been activated. Maybe this defeats the point of a menu bar app, maybe this is a fundamental usability flaw in menu bar apps.
