Showstopper: installer requires /usr/local to be owned by the current account
I’m of the Homebrew school of thought that the /usr/local directory on a Mac should be owned by the current account and not require sudo
.
The installer assumes this and fails if the permissions have not been set up properly. E.g.,
sudo chown -R `whoami` /usr/local
The installer script should warn that it needs to make this change and, if the person wants to proceed, go ahead and do it.
